Ice-Blue Marble Denim Jacket: Private-Label Statement Outerwear from Bangladesh

Ice-blue marbled denim jacket – front and back technical flat sketch by Antor Hossain, Ethnotex Private Limited.

At Ethnotex, we spend a big part of our R&D time exploring ideas that help brands stand out without sacrificing commercial reality—fit, cost, and production feasibility.

Our new Ice-Blue Marble Denim Jacket concept is one of those projects: a bold, cloud-washed denim jacket designed for streetwear, festival capsules and K-inspired collections, but engineered with real-world production in mind. This style is set up as a bulk program, ideal for brands and retailers planning volumes of 2,000 pcs per colour and above.

In this article, we walk through the design story, construction, fabric & wash options, and how we support you from development to bulk as your Bangladesh manufacturing partner.

Why we designed this jacket

Most brands already have a classic trucker jacket in their line. We wanted to create something that:

  • Feels familiar to the customer (denim, snap front, boxy fit)
  • Looks instantly different on the rail or thumbnail grid
  • Gives strong back-panel real estate for branding and storytelling
  • Can be produced at scale in audited, compliant factories in Bangladesh

The result is an ice-blue marbled denim jacket with a cloudy, electric pattern running through the body and sleeves, and a clean utility strap with label area across the chest and back.

This balance—loud wash, clean silhouette—makes the style both “wow” and wearable.

Design & construction details

The technical flats above reflect a fully engineered garment, not just a rough sketch. Core features include:

  • Boxy, slightly cropped body
    • Modern, unisex-friendly proportion
    • Works over hoodies, tees or dresses
  • Front snap placket
    • Metal snap buttons for quick closure
    • Reinforced placket for durability
  • Front utility pockets
    • Vertical pockets integrated into front panels
    • Clean topstitch layout for a technical feel
  • Back utility strap with label patch
    • Horizontal strap running across the upper back
    • Rectangular label area ideal for woven label, rubber patch, or laser-logo panel
    • Option to add D-rings or contrast bartacks for a more functional outdoor look
  • Panelled sleeves with comfort shaping
    • Articulated sleeve lines to avoid a stiff “box” feeling
    • Room for layering without oversizing
  • Clean hem and cuff finish
    • Straight hem with topstitching
    • Classic denim sleeve cuffs or clean banded cuffs depending on your brand’s direction

All stitch lines, bartacks and seam placements are designed to be production-friendly for our partner factories, while still delivering a premium design language.

Fabric & wash story: the “marble cloud” effect

The hero of this jacket is the marbled ice-blue surface.

Base fabric

Typical base fabric options we recommend:

  • 10.5–12 oz denim
    • 100% cotton or cotton-rich blends
    • Option for stretch (1–2% elastane) if you prefer more comfort
  • Alternative: rigid twill or bull denim
    • For brands who want a slightly smoother surface or different drape

We source from our established mill partners in Bangladesh, ensuring stability in shrinkage, shade and handfeel.

Wash development

The marbled pattern can be achieved using different wash routes depending on your price point and sustainability targets:

  • Cloud / marble wash combinations
  • Ice wash with darker indigo veins
  • Subtle smoke effect for more commercial programs
  • Low-impact options using laser and ozone where facilities are available

Our wash tech team will develop lab dips + strike-offs and share photo and video references so you can make a confident decision before salesman samples.

Branding opportunities for your label

We intentionally built this jacket with multiple brandable areas:

  • Back label patch
    • Woven label, silicon/rubber patch, PU patch, or metal plate
  • Back strap
    • Contrast bartacks, logo embroidery, print or tonal jacquard tape
  • Front chest area
    • Clean enough to host subtle embroidery, small logo hits or pins
  • Interior branding
    • Main label, size label, care label and brand story label inside

Whether you’re a minimalist label or a bold streetwear brand, the base design lets you tell your story without re-engineering the pattern from scratch.

How Ethnotex supports your full development cycle

Ethnotex is not just a single factory—we are a Bangladesh-based production partner with our own shirt unit and a network of 45+ audited factories across woven, denim, knit and outerwear categories. For this jacket, our process typically looks like:

1. Brief & alignment

You share:

  • Target customer & brand positioning
  • Planned drop season and markets
  • Planned quantity per colour (from 2,000 pcs/colour minimum)
  • Target FOB or landed price range
  • Any mandatory fabric, wash or trim requirements

We respond with a short proposal: recommended fabric, wash route, target cost band and suitable factories from our network.

2. Design customization

Based on your brief, we can:

  • Adjust body length, sleeve length and overall proportions
  • Add/remove branding details (back strap, patch, extra pockets)
  • Propose alternate washes (darker, lighter, over-dye, garment dye)
  • Suggest trims (buttons/snaps, zippers, labels, hangtags, packaging)

If you already have your own tech pack, we adapt our pattern and lines to your spec while keeping the marble-wash concept.

3. Sampling & fit approval

We move through:

  1. Proto sample – to confirm overall design, fit and major construction.
  2. Wash development – strike-offs to lock your preferred marble shade.
  3. Size set – graded samples across your size range.
  4. Pre-production (PP) sample – final reference for bulk.

Our QC and QA teams monitor every step. We share detailed photos and videos if you can’t visit the factories physically.

4. Bulk production & QC

Once PP and all trims are approved, we start bulk:

  • Inline QC during cutting, sewing and washing
  • Final inspection using AQL / buyer-specific standards
  • Packing according to your requirement (flat, hanger, multi-pack, etc.)

We coordinate shipment—FOB, CFR, CIF or other terms as needed—with full documentation support.

MOQ, lead time and pricing bands

Every brand and program is different, but this is a realistic framework for planning this jacket:

  • MOQ
    • This style is structured as a bulk program with a minimum order quantity of 2,000 pcs per colour.
    • Multi-colour programs are possible (for example 2,000 pcs x 3–4 colours) depending on fabric and wash plan.
  • Lead time
    • Development: 2–4 weeks (depending on wash trials)
    • Bulk production: 6–9 weeks after all approvals
    • Transit:
      • Air freight: approx. 5–10 days
      • Sea freight: depending on your destination port
  • Price band
    • Varies by fabric, wash complexity, trim package and total volume.
    • We typically propose two routes:
      • A cost-optimized path for volume programs
      • A premium route with specialty trims and more complex washes

Share your target; we’ll confirm what’s realistic at 2,000 pcs per colour and up and how to structure colours and deliveries.

Sustainability & compliance

Ethnotex works only with audited, compliant factories. Depending on the factory and mill, you can request:

  • Certifications such as BSCI, WRAP, SEDEX, OEKO-TEX, GOTS or GRS (where applicable)
  • Organic or recycled cotton options
  • Lower-impact wash processes (laser, ozone, e-flow) where available

We can also support basic traceability documentation from fabric to finished garment, aligned with your brand’s sustainability communication needs.

Who this jacket is perfect for

We designed this style with several types of brands in mind:

  • Streetwear and festival labels looking for an eye-catching hero piece
  • Premium denim and boutique brands who want to test a unique wash story at volume
  • K-fashion and youth-driven labels that blend clean silhouettes with loud surface effects
  • Retailers building an exclusive capsule line with a strong outerwear offer

If your customer loves denim but expects more than another plain trucker jacket, this concept gives you a ready foundation to build on.
